Description: The MYN LatinX Outreach Project hopes to engage west county LatinX groups to learn their ideas/approaches and needs to be related to disaster preparedness and response. Using and/or adapting existing MYN materials in Spanish the project plans to work with local LatinX groups.

Goals

• Engage with the LatinX community in ways that are identified and supported by that community.

• Invite engaged individuals to participate in GHAC Advisory Committee, Board, and/or other projects

• Give presentations, in Spanish with Spanish support materials, that meet the needs of the LatinX individuals involved.

Challenges

• Identifying, recruiting, and finding the appropriate methods of engagement.

• The Cafecitos group at Guerneville School, the staff and promoters from Raizes Collective, and cooperation and support from NAPA COAD staff have been invaluable.
